The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a government organization in India that hires people for different jobs in government ministries, departments, and offices. It operates under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and is led by a chairman, two members, and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations. The secretary's position is similar to that of an additional secretary to the government of India.

Online applications are invited for the recruitment of Constabl positions at the Staff Selection Commission. The application period commences on 24-11-2023 and concludes at on 31-12-2023

Qualification, Age Limit, Pay Scale for SSC Recruitment 2023

Constable (GD)

  • Number Vacancy: 26146
  • Educational and other qualifications: The candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University. Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date will not be eligible and need not apply
  • Pay Scale: Pay Level-3 (Rs. 21,700-69,100).
  • Age Limit: 18-23 years as on 01-01-2024. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2001 and later than 01-01-2006 in normal course.

Mode of Selection for SSC Recruitment 2023

The hiring process will include a Computer Based Examination (CBE), a Physical Standard Test (PST), a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a Medical Examination (DME/RME), and Document Verification.

Application Fee for SSC Recruitment 2023

The fee is Rs 100 (one hundred rupees) for most candidates. However, women candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) who are eligible for reservation are not required to pay the fee.

How to Apply for SSC Recruitment 2023

To apply for the examination, you need to go to the official website of the Commission at https://ssc.nic.in. There are two steps to follow:

  • One Time Registration
  • Fill out the online Application for the Examination
  • When filling out the online form, you must upload a colored passport-size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The photo should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). As per a Supreme Court order dated 05.03.2020, the photo should not be more than three months old from the date of the examination notice. The photo should show your face clearly without a cap and glasses. Your appearance in the exam should match the photo in the online application form.
