The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, known as CSIR, was created by the Indian government in September 1942. It operates independently and has become the biggest research and development organization in India. CSIR is also one of the largest publicly funded research and development organizations globally. Online applications are invited for the recruitment of 444 Section Officer, Assistant Section Officer positions at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The application period commences on 08/12/2023 and concludes at 12/01/2024
Qualification, Age Limit, Pay Scale for CSIR Recruitment 2024
Section Officer
- Number Vacancy: 76
- Pay Scale: (Rs. 47,600 –Rs. 1,51,100)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 33 years
- Qualification: University Degree
Assistant Section Officer
- Number Vacancy: 368
- Pay Scale: (Rs. 44,900 –1,42,400)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 33 years
- Qualification: University Degree
Mode of Selection for CSIR Recruitment 2024
For the post of Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) only
- Candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks in aggregate out of 350 marks (Paper – I and Paper – II) will be called for Paper-III (Descriptive Paper).
- Candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks in Paper– I, Paper- II and Paper- III in aggregate out of 500 marks will be called for Interview. Interview carries 100 marks.
- The total marks for the post of Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) will be 600.
- Final Select/Wait List will be prepared keeping in view the number of vacancies and total marks obtained by the candidates, subject to securing the minimum threshold marks.
For the post of Assistant Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) only
- Candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks in aggregate out of 350 marks (Paper – I and Paper – II) will be called for Paper-III (Descriptive Paper) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). CPT is Qualifying in nature and Marks obtained in CPT will not be counted towards final marks.
- The total marks for the post of Assistant Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) will be 500, excluding CPT.
- Final Select/Wait List will be prepared keeping in view the number of vacancies and total marks obtained by the candidates, subject to securing the minimum threshold marks and qualifying marks in CPT.

- Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/CSIR Departmental Candidates: NIL

Interested individuals must submit their applications online through the same website. The deadline for online submissions is 12/01/2024. After this date, the application link will be deactivated, and submissions through any other mode will not be accepted, being summarily rejected.
- Applicants working in Government Departments shall be required to intimate to their Department / Office and have to submit “No Objection Certificate” / “Intimation to the office” from their employer at time of document verification or when asked to submit, failing which their candidature will NOT be considered. CSIR will not accept any person on lien or deputation basis.
