SJVN, previously known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, is a government organization in India that focuses on generating and transmitting hydroelectric power. It was established in 1988 as Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation, a collaboration between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The company operates two hydropower plants, Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur, with a combined capacity of 1912 MW. Additionally, SJVN has a wind power capacity of 97.6 MW and a solar power capacity of 81.9 MW.
Online applications are invited for the recruitment of 400 Apprenticeship positions at the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam. The application period commences on 18.12.2023 and concludes on 07.01.2024
Qualification, Age Limit, Pay Scale for SJVN Recruitment 2024
Graduate Apprentices
- Number Vacancy: 175
- Educational and other qualifications: Full time Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology in relevant branch, from Institute/ University recognized by AICTE. Graduate with 02 years Full time MBA from Institute/ University recognized by UGC with specialization in HR. Graduate with 02 years Full time MBA from Institute/ University recognized by UGC with specialization in Finance.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 10,000/- Per Month
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum will be 30 Years as on closing date (Relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST; 03 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & 10 years for PWDs)
Technician (Diploma) Apprentices
- Number Vacancy: 100
- Educational and other qualifications: Full time diploma in Engineering/Technology in relevant branch, from Institute/ University recognized by AICTE/ Board of Technical Education of State.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 8,000/- Per Month
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum will be 30 Years as on closing date (Relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST; 03 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & 10 years for PWDs)
Technician (ITI) Apprentices
- Number Vacancy: 125
- Educational and other qualifications: ITI passed from any recognized University/ Institute.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 7,000/- Per Month.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum will be 30 Years as on closing date (Relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST; 03 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & 10 years for PWDs)
Mode of Selection for SJVN Recruitment 2024
There will be no interviews. The eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list formed on the basis of marks secured in Matriculation examination (10th), 12th and ITI Course/ Diploma and Bachelor of Engineering/Technology or MBA
Application Fee for SJVN Recruitment 2024:
Personal details and educational qualification details and a Debit card/ Credit card/ Internet banking detail via which the payment of application fee of Rs. 100/- (SC/ST/PWD exempted) is to be made on e-recruitment portal. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.

To apply for the position, eligible and interested candidates must use the online application system on SJVN's website: www.sjvn.nic.in. No other methods of application will be accepted. Before applying on the website, candidates should have the following:
- a valid email ID and mobile number that will be valid for at least one year,
- personal and educational details, and details of a Debit card/Credit card/Internet banking for the application fee payment of Rs. 100/- (SC/ST/PWD exempted). The fee, once paid, will not be refunded.
- a scanned copy of the latest passport-size photograph and a digital signature photograph (.jpg or .jpeg file, less than 500 KB in size) for uploading with the application.
- Candidates should be aware that SJVN will not be responsible for the rejection of an application due to incompleteness, non-submission, payment issues, or any delays
