National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is a government-owned company that belongs to the Ministry of Finance, part of the Government of India. It started in 1906 and has its main office in Kolkata. Two companies, National Insurance and Asian Insurance, became government-owned in 1972. NICL provides various types of insurance policies to many clients in different parts of the economy. Besides operating in India, NICL also offers its services in Nepal.

Online applications are invited for the recruitment of 274 Administrative Officer positions at the National Insurance Company Limited. The application period commences on 2nd January, 2024, and concludes on 22nd January 2024

Qualification, Age Limit, Pay Scale for NICL Recruitment 2024

Administrative Officer

1. Number Vacancy: 274

2. Educational and other qualifications:

  • Doctors (MBBS): M.B.B.S / M.D. / M.S. or PG – Medical Degree from a recognized University OR equivalent foreign degrees which are recognized as such by the National Medical Commission (Formerly Medical Council of India) with the prescribed benchmark. Furthermore, the candidate must be holding a valid registration from National Medical Commission (Formerly Medical Council of India) or any State Medical Council (as applicable for Allopathy) as on date of the scheduled interview.
  • Legal: Graduate / Post Graduate in Law from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Finance: Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA) OR B.COM / M.COM from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Actuarial: Bachelor / Masters degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Actuarial Science or any other quantitative discipline from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Information Technology: B.E / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology/ MCA from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Automobile Engineering: B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech in Automobile Engineering from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Generalist Officers: Graduate / Post Graduate in any stream from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers: Master’s Degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR Master’s Degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as the compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)

3. Pay Scale: The starting Basic pay would be Rs. 50,925 /- in the scale of Rs.50925-2500(14)-85925-2710(4)-96765 and such other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs. 85,000/- per month in Metropolitan Centres. Other benefits such as Pension under New Pension scheme governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance etc. shall be as per rules in force in the Company at the time of appointment. The Officers are also entitled for Company’s / leased accommodation as per norms.

Mode of Selection for NICL Recruitment 2024

There are two phases for the written exam:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination (for all disciplines except Hindi Officers)

  • This phase has an online test with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 100 marks.
  • The test will be for 60 minutes and includes three sections.

Phase II: Main Examination (for all disciplines except Hindi Officers)

  • The main exam has two parts:
    1. Objective Tests (MCQs) for 250 marks.
    2. Descriptive Test for 30 marks, where candidates type their answers on a computer.
  • Both tests are conducted online, and the Descriptive Test follows immediately after the Objective Test.

Application Fee for NICL Recruitment 2024:

For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the fee is Rs. 250, which includes GST and covers only the notification charges. For all other candidates, except SC/ST/PwBD, the fee is Rs. 1000, which includes GST and covers both the application fee and notification charges.
