A Walk-in-interview will be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur at the above address on 3 rd April, 2024 to select candidates for engagement ofFive (05) CSIR JRF-GATE (UR-04 & OBC-01) fellows under ‘CSIR’s Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) GATE scheme for Indian nationals.

Qualification for CMERI Recruitment 2024
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science / Mechatronics / Aeronautical / Agricultural Engineering or equivalent and allied area with valid GATE Score.
- Candidates with ME/M.Tech degree; All those eligible for direct CSIR SRF Direct are not eligible to apply for JRF-GATE
Stipend for CMERI Recruitment 2024
- The fellowship is tenable for a total duration of five years within which the candidate is required to complete the Ph.D degree.
- The fellowship amount is Rs.37,000/- p.m. for the first two years.
- In addition, an annual contingency grant of Rs.20,000/-per fellow will be provided to the Institute.

Age Limit for CMERI Recruitment 2024
- The upper age limit for the applicants shall be 28 years (as on the date of Walk-In-Interview) which is relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women and Physically Handicapped applicants and 3 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates as per rules.
- The date for determining the upper age limit, qualification and/or experience etc. will be the date of Walk-In-Interview.
Selection Procedure for CMERI Recruitment 2024
- Candidates selected for the award of JRF-GATE will be eligible for fellowship subject to get registered / enrolled for Ph.D (IDDP) at AcSIR and approval of HRDG-CSIR
- Selected candidates will be required to register for Integrated Dual Degree PhD (IDDP) program in Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) only.
Walk-In Interview Details for CMERI Recruitment 2024
- The interested candidates may appear before the Selection Committee with all their original certificates / mark sheets with a self-attested photo copy of each of it and a recent passport size photograph along with the filled-in application form available in the Institute website, on the date and time given below. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-In-Interview
